The Site of LMM's Cavendish Home is privately owned and operated by Montgomery's descendants, the Macneill's.  John and Jennie Macneill created the site in the late 80's and have since handed it down to their youngest son David.

    If you are originating at Green Gables take a leisurely walk through the Haunted Wood, cross the road and enter into the magical narrow nature trail that leads to the homestead remains. Read the plaques along the way, enjoy the beautiful trees and the gardens planted with love by the hands of David Macneill.  Visit the quaint little bookstore with the largest selection of Maud's books on the Island.
